Erik Nilsson

Erik Nilsson is a Salt Lake City native who's spent his career at the intersection of finance, strategy, and business growth — working across M&A, management consulting, and impact investing, and currently serving as a VP of Finance and Operations in tech. He spent six years living in Washington before finding his way back, but not before a six-month detour living and working out of a van across 36 states — a trip that clarified, more than anything else, that Salt Lake City was home.

The podcast started when Erik kept asking a question he couldn't find a good answer to: who are the people behind this city's growth? He'd always loved doing interviews at work and was drawn to podcasting as a format, but it took returning from that van trip — certain about where he wanted to be and ready to build something — to finally start. He ordered the equipment, recorded the first episode, and knew immediately it was what he'd been looking for.

125 episodes later, he's still asking the same question.
